INDUSTRIAL SPECIAL RISKS (BUILDING & CONTENTS INSURANCE)
This policy is written on a "replacement/reinstatement basis" and it is therefore important to ensure that your property (both buildings and contents) is correctly insured for its replacement value.
THE INSURED
The Uniting Church in Australia Synod of New South Wales its Members, Churches, Trusts, Committees, Missions, Incorporated Funds, Boards, Associated Religious Groups and Schools, Colleges, Aged Care Facilities, Hospitals, Day Care Centers, Hostels, Investment Properties (as now existing or hereafter formed), and parties for whom the Uniting Church now or in the future is responsible.
The Policy also includes an "Interest of other Parties" Clause whereby the cover extends to indemnify any other party having an interest in the Property Insured under the terms of a Mortgage, Leasing, Hiring or Renting Agreement or any other form of financial or equity agreement.
Period of Insurance: From 4 pm on 31 March to 4 pm on 31 March of each year.
SITUATION
Cover under this policy extends to anywhere in the Commonwealth of Australia and whilst in transit between any port and place where the Insured has property or carries on business, has goods or other property stored or being processed or has work done.
MAJOR EXCLUSIONS TO COVER
Money Stolen from a Safe or Strong-room where a key has been used or left on the premises
Money and Property Stolen from unlocked vehicles
Loss or Damage caused by interruption to water, gas, electricity or other fuel supply
Consequential loss of any kind except as otherwise provided for in this policy
Damage caused by vermin including moths, termites, mice and other insects (including domestic pets)
Damage from moisture caused by variances in temperature, atmosphere
Corrosion, rust, rot, mould
Erosion, normal settlement of ground, shrinking & swelling of ground, movement in foundations
Faulty workmanship, error or omission in design (but not excluding damage caused thereby)
Breakdown of machinery (not including fusion of electric motors)
Wear & tear, deterioration, aging
Damage by sea water
Nuclear weapons, radioactivity, Consequence of war & invasion hostilities & similar events
Livestock, Animals, Birds & Fish, Standing Timber, Growing Crops & Pastures
Personal property of employees and members unless special arrangements have been made with the Synod Office (please refer to section on Personal Property for further details).
