What to do if you have an Industrial Issue

The processes employers within the NSW Synod need to follow in the event of an industrial dispute or issue.

In accordance with section 4.9.2 of the Regulations Legal proceedings shall not be instituted or defended by or in the name of:

  • The Property Trust;
  • The Church; or
  • Any agency of the Church,

Without the prior approval of:

  • The Standing Committee of the Synod or the Moderator; or
  • In cases of urgency, the Property Officer of the NSW Synod or the chairperson of the Presbytery within the bounds of which the action arose or the property affected by the proceedings is located.
To obtain approval of the Moderator or the Property Officer in the case of employment matters, employers should forward full details of the matter to the Manager Uniting HR Services of Uniting Resources, who will seek approval on the employer’s behalf.
